GTA 6: White House jokes about Tesla's flying Roadster

According to Coinpaper, the White House account shared an image on October 16 showing Donald Trump, a futuristic vehicle and a helicopter. The caption said we really got flying cars before GTA 6.

The News International adds that the image had a Vice City look, and that some users called it low-effort AI content. It also says the same line had appeared in an earlier post from the account. Only that outlet mentions this.

Rockstar has not commented on the post. Neither has Take-Two.

On October 15, Tesla showed a new Roadster at SpaceX's Texas site. It performed jumps, mid-air turns and a barrel roll using cold gas thrusters. Per the reports, Tesla claims 0 to 60 mph in under a second. Nobody has verified that independently.

The demo came hours after the GTA 6 launch trailer, according to The News International. That fed the old fan joke: any strange real-world development happens before the game ships.

Not in any practical sense. Coinpaper notes the prototype has not shown sustained flight like an aircraft, and it is not an approved commercial flying car. The News International relays similar criticism: for some, these hops are not flight. The 0.81 second 0 to 60 mph time is Tesla's own measurement.

The irony is that the Roadster was first unveiled in 2017 with production planned for 2020. It now targets 2028. GTA 6, announced in December 2023, has an official Rockstar date: November 19, 2026.

If you want what does fly in the game, see the GTA 6 aircraft. The setting of the visual gag is on our Vice City map. Dates and platforms are in our release date, price and editions guide, and the overview is what we know about GTA 6.

We do not know whether Rockstar or Take-Two will respond, which would be unusual. It is also unclear whether the White House image uses game elements or is a generic AI composite, since the sources describe it differently. The meme will likely last until November. The game's date, at least, is fixed.

Has Rockstar confirmed anything about this post?

No. Rockstar has not commented on the White House post. The only official fact here is the release date, November 19, 2026.

When does GTA 6 come out?

According to Rockstar, November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

When will the Tesla Roadster reach customers?

Tesla targets 2028 for production, per Coinpaper. That is a goal, not a guaranteed date.
