Aircraft—helicopters and airplanes—are the first type of vehicle to take to the skies in Leonida. In the trailers, helicopters can be seen flying over the Vice City skyline. As is traditional for the series, models like the Maverick and the Buzzard are considered a given, although Rockstar has not released the list of aircraft.
Are there planes and helicopters in GTA VI?
Yes. The trailers show helicopters flying over Vice City, both during chases and in shots of the skyline. Flying has been a staple of the series since GTA III, and a map the size of Leonida (estimated to be 1.5–2 times the size of GTA V) practically demands it for fast travel.
Which models are considered confirmed?
Returning from GTA V/Online, we expect helicopters like the Maverick (civilian), the Buzzard (light attack), and the Swift (executive), as well as airplanes like the Dodo (light aircraft), the Shamal (private jet), and fighter jets for military content. These expectations are based on the series’ tradition, not a list confirmed by Rockstar.
Do they fit the map’s areas?
Very much so: helicopters are ideal for the Vice City skyline and for reaching the Leonida Keys or Mount Kalaga without crossing the entire map. Light aircraft fit well with rural areas and the swamp. Air travel connects the six regions of Leonida in minutes.
