Privacy Policy

This policy explains how we process your personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Spanish data protection law.

1. Data controller

Data controller: the Leonida Bay team (community project). Contact: contacto@leonidabay.com.

2. What data we process

  • Account data: email and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile data Google shares with us (name, email, photo).
  • Content you post: theories, comments, votes, images and the public name you choose.
  • Preferences: language, theme and the email notifications you subscribe to.
  • Technical data: basic usage information and logs for security and error diagnostics.
  • Payments (if you subscribe): handled by a third-party provider; we do not store your card details.

3. Purposes and legal basis

  • Giving you access and operating your account — performance of the contract (the Terms).
  • Displaying your activity and content — performance of the contract.
  • Sending you the notifications you request — your consent (revocable at any time).
  • Security, abuse prevention and improving the Site — legitimate interest.
  • Complying with legal obligations where applicable.

We do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.

4. Processors and providers

We rely on providers that process data on our behalf under the corresponding agreements, including: Supabase (authentication and database), Vercel (hosting), Sentry (error diagnostics), Google (sign-in, if you use it) and the payment provider (if you subscribe). Some may carry out international transfers, in which case they are covered by appropriate safeguards (e.g., EU standard contractual clauses).

5. Retention

We keep your data for as long as you have an active account and, thereafter, for as long as necessary to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data except for what we are required to keep by law.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use strictly necessary storage for the Site to work: your login session and preferences such as the theme and the music volume. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies for commercial purposes.

7. Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability, as well as withdraw your consent at any time (for example, by unsubscribing from the emails). To do so, write to us at contacto@leonidabay.com or use the options in your profile. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) if you believe we have not addressed your rights.

8. Minors

The Site is not directed at children under 14. If we detect data from a minor without the required authorisation, we will delete it.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; we will publish the new version here with its date. The Spanish version prevails over any translation.
