"Free GTA VI": What's a Legitimate Trick and What's a Scam to Steal from You

There are various methods circulating for "getting GTA VI for free." Some are legitimate (using a cheat); others are outright scams designed to steal your money or personal information. We'll show you how to tell them apart before you fall for them.
Every time a major game is coming out, the vultures come out. "GTA VI for free," "early access," "download it now"... Let's separate what actually works from what's just trying to drain your bank account.
The Legit Offers (But Read the Fine Print)
- Microsoft Rewards points. Some people have pre-ordered GTA VI Ultimate on Xbox using ~100,000 points they earned through searches and tasks. It’s real, but it’s “free” only after months (or years) of your time—and only on Xbox.
- The free month of GTA+ for pre-ordering is indeed an official gift from Rockstar (we’ll tell you more about that in another article).
- Pricing by region. GTA VI is cheaper in places like Korea or Japan, but changing your region with a VPN violates Sony/Microsoft’s rules and could get your account banned. Plus, the old Turkey/Argentina trick no longer works.
The Scams (Here’s Where the Danger Lies)
- “Early access” websites that ask for payment in cryptocurrency (one even asked for $250 in Bitcoin). There’s no game: it’s irreversible money down the drain.
- Fake pre-order pages that steal your credit card information.
- "GTA Mobile 6" APKs: These are malware—a Trojan that sneaks onto your phone.
- Giveaways and “key generators” that pose as Rockstar or streamers and ask you to follow accounts, take surveys, or pay “shipping fees.”
Red flags 🚩
Access before November 19, payment in crypto only, a sense of urgency (“unlock it in 1 minute”), APKs or “cracks,” or requests to “verify your account” or enter an access code.
The reality: GTA VI is a paid game (around 75–100 € depending on the edition). There is no 100% free and legal copy. Buy only from official stores or authorized retailers. If something sounds too good to be true, it’s a lie.
