The first discovery was uncovered by HotHardware on June 21, 2026: When updating rockstargames.com/VI after pre-orders opened, Rockstar included a short clip featuring a nighttime panoramic view of Vice City Bay. The juicy part is in the technical details:
- Visible interior models: You can see lit rooms inside the buildings, not just painted facades. This aligns with rumors that you’ll be able to enter many more buildings than in GTA V.
- Ray-traced global illumination (RTGI): Analysis of the footage suggests ray tracing is used for lighting, with the scene running at 4K and 30 fps.
- The footage appears to come from Xbox Series X or PS5 Pro, according to the same analysis.
