GTA 6: Rockstar says it will launch on time, November 19
Rockstar North's Rob Nelson told Famitsu that GTA 6 will definitely launch on time. The official release date remains November 19, 2026.
Rob Nelson, co-studio lead at Rockstar North, has told Japanese magazine Famitsu that GTA 6 will launch on time. The official date is still November 19, 2026, and Rockstar has announced no changes.
What Rob Nelson said about the GTA 6 release date
As GameRant reports, Nelson was asked about the Extended Look, which suggested little reason to worry about quality, while some apprehension about the date remained. His answer: he'd be thrilled if players feel confident about the quality, and the game "will definitely be released on time."
It is a short line, but a studio lead rarely speaks about a date this plainly. It is also not a guarantee. A statement of confidence cannot rule out the unexpected, and none of the outlets covering it claim otherwise.
A note on sourcing: La Razón places the Extended Look on Netflix, a detail that does not appear in the other two outlets we checked. We treat it as that outlet's claim, unverified on our side. Translations of the quote also differ slightly between outlets, so the meaning matters more than the exact wording.
Why it matters for GTA 6 after earlier delays
The game has moved dates before, and each shift fed a community that has waited years. With launch just over a month away, another delay would be hard to explain, and Rockstar has kept feeding the promotion steadily in recent weeks.
The coverage recaps what has already been shown: Vice City and the wider environments of Leonida, wildlife, weather, vehicles and the relationship between Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, the two lead characters. If you want to revisit the setting, our map page is the place to start.
GameRant adds that another delay now looks very unlikely, while noting that anything can happen in this industry. That is the outlet's assessment, not a fact.
What we still don't know
Nelson's comment does not say what Rockstar plans to show before November 19. All three outlets agree the company still has room to reveal activities, open-world mechanics and more of a story we know little about.
There is also nothing new on final availability details. The only proof that counts is the usual one: the game on shelves that day. Until then we will keep following the news on the blog, and we will tell you if the date moves, in either direction.
