GTA 6 PC release could come in six to seven months

Pachter said in a BBC appearance that GTA 6 would reach PC in roughly six or seven months. Insider Gaming picked up the remark, and Vandal, a Spanish video game outlet, reports that he was discussing what the launch means for the console market.

Grand Theft Auto V took almost 19 months. It came out on PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, 2013, and the PC version followed on April 14, 2015, per Vandal. It went through PS4 and Xbox One in late 2014 first.

Grand Theft Auto IV had a much shorter gap. It launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 on April 29, 2008, and reached PC on December 3 of that year, 7 months and 4 days later. If Pachter is right, GTA 6 would sit closer to that case than to Grand Theft Auto V.

GamesBeat, an industry news site, reported on October 13 that Rockstar plans to ship the PC version in the first quarter of 2027. It cites four industry sources familiar with the studio's plans, all of whom asked for anonymity. A Rockstar representative did not answer a request for comment before publication.

The two forecasts do not match. GamesBeat would put the launch between January and March, earlier than Pachter suggests. Both point to 2027, and neither comes from Rockstar.

For now, nothing in the schedule: GTA 6 launches only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. PC players have no confirmed date or platform.

Pachter also noted that the console launch could push some PC players to buy a PS5 or an Xbox Series X|S to play from day one, rather than wait for a version Rockstar has not announced. The essentials are missing: Rockstar Games has announced no PC version, no date and no storefronts. Only Rockstar or Take-Two Interactive can confirm it.
