GTA 6 Guinness record: more vehicles than GTA V, 302 so far

Vandal, a Spanish video game outlet, says GTA 6 already holds one Guinness World Records title and is expected to add another at launch: the series game with the most vehicles. The outlet presents it as an expectation and does not link a Guinness record page. Rockstar Games has not given a vehicle count. The game launches on 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, so everything else is still a count by fans and press. Dates and editions are in our GTA 6 release date, price and editions guide.

GTA V holds the series record with 257 vehicles. Vandal says it shipped with 217 and rose to 257 with post-launch content and the re-release on other platforms. GTA V came out on 17 September 2013 on PS3 and Xbox 360, so that bar has stood for more than thirteen years.

Vandal says at least 302 vehicles have been counted across the trailers, the images and the Netflix gameplay. The trailers are Trailer 1, from 5 December 2023, and Trailer 2, from 6 May 2025. The Netflix gameplay is probably "An Extended Look", 26:48 of footage that Rockstar premiered on 27 August 2026 first on Netflix.

The outlet does not say who made the count or publish the list. That makes 302 an unofficial minimum. Cars, motorcycles, helicopters, speedboats and other transport all count.

GTA 6 already holds the Guinness record for most views of a video game trailer in 24 hours, thanks to its first video. According to Vandal, the second trailer was for a time the most viewed ever in its launch window, until the Spider-Man: Brand New Day video overtook it.

Alice Bell, editor of Guinness World Records Gamers Edition 2027, expects more records: player numbers and revenue, plus the number of developers on the project. Red Dead Redemption 2, released on 26 October 2018, currently holds that last one.

For players, the figure points to a wider transport catalogue than GTA V, but it promises nothing specific about driving. Vandal's count includes motorcycles, aircraft and watercraft as well as cars. Rockstar has not published a final number or a list, so 302 is best read as a floor and not a spec sheet. You can follow what gets confirmed in our GTA 6 vehicles section.

Rockstar has yet to give the vehicle count of the finished game. Guinness World Records also has to publish the record, since Vandal only relays its editor's expectation. With the game out on 19 November 2026, the fan count can be checked against the real one. Until then, GTA V's record stands.
