GTA 6 download size: 210 GB on PS5, still unconfirmed

France's National Assembly adopted an amendment to the 2027 budget on 30 October, by 11 votes to 10 and with only 35 of its 577 deputies present. It taxes data sent to users in France at 0.055 euros per gigabyte. According to TweakTown, a 210 GB download would cost the distributor about 11.55 euros, not the player directly.

It is not law yet: it still has to go through the Senate, and it does not target GTA 6, being a general levy on data volume. GameGPU puts it at about 12 euros for a 218 GB game.

The standard edition would take 210 GB, according to a post @PlaystationSize published on X on 27 October 2026. Tech4Gamers, a gaming news site, says the same post lists a price of 79.99 dollars, a pre-load on 12 November and a midnight release on 19 November. DualShockers, another games outlet, reports the same details and mentions local time. The pre-load date is official: it opens on 12 November at 00:00 local time, according to Rockstar Games in its pre-order Newswire post. For prices and editions, see the release date, price and editions page.

No, it is not. The official Rockstar Games site confirms a launch on 19 November 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but it says nothing about a download size. The 210 GB number starts with @PlaystationSize, which names no primary source, and other outlets repeat it. DualShockers says players should wait for official confirmation before treating the figure as final.

It would be double Red Dead Redemption 2, which Tech4Gamers says weighed 105 GB at its 2018 launch. GameGPU, a tech and games outlet, adds that the native PS5 edition of GTA V asks for 87 GB, while the original PS3 release took under 20 GB. Each big Rockstar Games title has been heavier than the last. Tech4Gamers links the new number to a large map, the game's non-player character systems and more than 170 animal species.

Players need to free up drive space before the pre-load on 12 November. The account @GTAVI_Countdown repeats the figure without naming a source and works out how much storage the 210 GB would use on each console model. Those are estimates from an X account, so treat them with care. Tech4Gamers warns the size could grow if Rockstar Games ships a day-one patch, something the company has not announced. If you are getting ready for launch, the beginner's guide covers the basics.

Rockstar Games or the PlayStation Store listing still has to confirm the 210 GB, which should happen once the pre-load opens. Nobody has said whether a day-one patch exists or how much it would add. For Xbox Series X|S, DualShockers says the size is unknown. @GTAVI_Countdown claims, without a source, that Series X would need more space and Series S less. Rockstar has not announced a PC version. The rest of the known facts are collected in what we know about GTA 6.

How many GB is GTA 6 on PS5?

The standard edition would take 210 GB, according to @PlaystationSize and the outlets repeating it. Rockstar Games has not published that figure.

On 12 November at 00:00 local time, according to Rockstar Games in its pre-order Newswire post. The game launches on 19 November 2026.

Will it be the same size on Xbox Series X|S?

It is not known. DualShockers says there is no Xbox data and that a similar size would not be surprising.
