GTA 6 Xbox teaser draws 2.8 million views on X

According to @GTAVI_Countdown, there is a full 20-second GTA 6 gameplay clip, along with the 12 screenshots in 4K. The account posted it on 29 October at 17:38 (UTC).

The clip is new to this story, and 4K is the first resolution attached to the 12 screenshots. The post does not say where the clip will be shown or which console it was captured on. Neither Rockstar Games nor Edge Magazine has confirmed anything, so for now this rests on a single account.

Vandal reports on 29 October that the 12 new GTA 6 images accompany a 16-page Edge feature, written after its journalists visited Rockstar North in Edinburgh. According to the outlet, they watched a 90-minute demo of a current build, run by Rob Nelson. That means the figure of 12 no longer rests only on @GTAVI_Countdown.

The screenshots show Jason and Lucia in a supermarket robbery, Lucia shooting from a car window, a boat in the swamps and a hammerhead shark. Vandal does not say which console they were captured on, or whether they include the 7 the account mentioned on 27 October.

According to @GTAVI_Countdown, Rockstar sent 12 new GTA 6 screenshots to Edge Magazine. The account posted it on 29 October at 00:18 UTC.

That changes the figure the same account gave on 27 October, when it spoke of 7 screenshots. The post does not say whether the 12 include those 7, or which console they were captured on. Neither Rockstar Games nor Edge Magazine has confirmed it, so for now it rests on a single account.

The official Xbox account shared the photo on October 26 with the caption "How our fall will be looking". According to Pure Xbox, an Xbox-focused outlet, the scene has a pumpkin, a pinecone, a translucent Xbox Elite controller and the GTA 6 game tile. The post has passed 2.8 million views, and the replies filled up with theories.

Nothing confirmed so far. The caption does not mention the game, and Pure Xbox only reports that users are asking whether Xbox is playing GTA 6. Some noticed that the "pre-ordered" label is missing where the game's name appears, and others joke that Xbox knows more than it says.

Pure Xbox frames the photo as a reply to the "GTA 6 Plays Best on PS5" marketing campaign and repeats that it is all a joke. The outlet reminds readers that the game exists and arrives in November.

Somewhere between jokes and technical doubts. Pure Xbox readers say in the comments that they will wait for a sale, a PC version or a new console, and several bring up the 30 fps console target. Rob Nelson of Rockstar described that target to VICE on August 28, along with a first-person view used only when aiming some weapons.

On PC, GamesBeat reported on October 13 that the version is slated for the first quarter of 2027. Rockstar has not announced a PC version.

According to @GTAVI_Countdown, an X account that tracks the countdown to GTA 6, there are 7 new screenshots of the game captured on Xbox Series S. After an opening joke, the account adds that they will appear in full resolution this Thursday, for free, in Edge's cover story. It posted that on October 27.

There is no confirmation from Rockstar Games or Edge yet, so treat it as the claim of a single account.

For now, nothing in the game. GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, according to Rockstar, and pre-loading starts on November 12 at 00:00 local time. The boxed edition with a download code goes on sale the same day.

If Edge does publish the screenshots, Xbox players would get a visual reference for their console before launch. Xbox clarified on October 8, according to Shacknews, that GTA 6 will not be playable on PC through the cloud at launch. Until then, the tile in the photo is a wink, not an announcement.

Three answers are missing. Xbox could say whether the photo is just seasonal decoration; Rockstar Games, whether it has anything specific planned for Microsoft's consoles; and Edge, whether it really publishes the seven screenshots. Rockstar has also given no date for PC.

In the meantime, the reference points remain what we know about GTA 6, the summary of release date, price and editions, the beginner's guide and our dossiers.
