Will GTA VI come to PC?

As of today, July 27, 2026, no PC version has been announced: no date, no release window, and no confirmation that the project even exists. GTA 6 is coming out on November 19 exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

That said: it will come. Rockstar has been doing the same thing for twenty years—releasing on consoles first and bringing the PC version later. What we don’t know is when.

How Long It Took Each Time

Applying that pattern to November 19, 2026, the reasonable window runs from late 2027 to early 2028. Most gaming media outlets are pointing to the fourth quarter of 2027. We want to emphasize that this is a projection based on past trends, not an official announcement.

What the Company Has Said

Strauss Zelnick, president of Take-Two, responded to the PC question without committing to anything: “Rockstar has a platform approach we’ve seen before, and they’ll make further announcements in due course.” Translation: yes, but I’m not telling you when.

On other occasions, he has acknowledged that the business is shifting toward PC—where some releases account for as much as 40% of sales—but he advocates starting with consoles because that’s where you measure whether you’re serving the core gamer well.

The rumors, separate from the above

A leak from July 2026, attributed to former Rockstar employees, is circulating that points to February 2027. It comes from an anonymous source with no solid independent verification: it’s speculation, and that’s how we’re labeling it.

There’s also been speculation in the PC community that job postings on Rockstar’s creator platform require console experience. That’s an interpretation of a job posting, not actual news.
