My theory: **GTA VI’s multiplayer won’t be released as an “online mode,” but rather as a platform for community-created content** — servers, game modes, and experiences made by creators, with Rockstar providing the tools and taking a cut. The “Roblox for adults.”

1. **August 2023 — Rockstar acquires Cfx.re**, the team behind FiveM: the platform where GTA V roleplay and custom servers thrive. You don’t buy that just to shut it down. 2. **September 2025 — NoPixel goes official**: Twitch’s most-watched RP server arrives on the Rockstar launcher with the company’s explicit blessing. After a decade of cease-and-desist letters, Rockstar EMBRACES third-party servers. 3. **April 2026 — Four “Creator Platform” job openings** in New York, London, and Leeds. The job postings require in-depth knowledge of “Roblox, Fortnite, YouTube, Twitch, TikTok.” That list doesn’t describe an online mode—it describes a creator ECONOMY. 4. **The Cfx Marketplace already exists**: the official store for paid mods for FiveM/RedM. Rockstar is already testing the business model using GTA V as a testing ground.
