Will There Be a Collector's Edition of GTA VI?

The short answer: No official collector's edition has been announced. Rockstar Games has confirmed only two versions of the game: the Standard and the Ultimate. But the history of deluxe editions in the series leaves the door open.

The Two Announced Editions

Since pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026, Rockstar has been offering:

Standard Edition: 79.99 euros

This is the full game: both protagonists, the entire campaign, and access to the entire map. As expected, this is what anyone would expect when buying a GTA game. Rockstar has not yet provided any details regarding the online component.

Ultimate Edition: 99.99 euros

It adds exclusive content for an additional 20 euros. It includes:

• Exclusive vehicles: a replica of the 1995 Grotti Cheetah (classic sports car) and the 1967 Vapid Dominator Buggy (a brute-force 4x4 off-roader). The Dominator comes with access to Paradise Garage in Watson Bay, a private garage with weapon lockers and storage crates.
• Exclusive Missions: two side campaigns not included in the Standard Edition. One is a raid on a PTT Youngin$ warehouse (an illegal store). The other is a search for abandoned classic cars that the player restores under the guidance of Wyman, a character who only appears in Ultimate.
• Access to 5 exclusive stores: Stock 305 (clothing), and four additional themed shops for which full details are not yet available.
• Unique cosmetics: dozens of outfits, hairstyles, tattoos, and accessories for Lucia and Jason. Custom weapons, such as the Hawk & Little Morgan Revolver with exclusive finishes.

This is actual content, not just cosmetic items. The figure of 10 to 15 extra hours circulating on forums is a community estimate: Rockstar has not released any playtime estimates.

Why No Collector’s Edition Has Been Announced

Rockstar has broken with its own historical pattern. In previous releases, the company offered three price tiers.

Grand Theft Auto V (2013):

• Standard: $59.99
• Special Edition: $79.99 (exclusive steelbook, paper map of Los Santos and Blaine County, bonus in-game content)
• Collector’s Edition: $149.99 (everything from the Special Edition, plus a storage bag with the GTA logo, a New Era cap, and an exclusive garage)

That structure worked: the most dedicated fans were willing to pay $150 for the physical copy, the merchandise, and the status symbol. But Rockstar was slow to announce them: Initial pre-orders opened on November 5, 2012, but the Special and Collector’s editions weren’t revealed until May 23, 2013—six months later—and nearly four months before the release date (September 17).

Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018): Rockstar repeated the tiered approach, with special editions above the standard edition and a collector’s box sold separately from the game.

But for GTA VI, Rockstar has not announced a physical collector’s edition. Just the Ultimate Edition, which is 100% digital. No SteelBook, no metal cases, no store-branded merchandise. Just in-game content.

Is the Collector’s Edition being postponed for later?

It’s a possibility, but with one important caveat. The business model has changed since 2013.

In 2013, gamers bought physical copies. Stores sold boxes on shelves, and tangible merchandise justified a premium price. Today, most purchases are digital (PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store). The physical format is a niche market.

That said, Rockstar could announce a physical Collector’s Edition for October or November—just before the November 19 release—targeted at hardcore collectors and specialty stores. That would provide a last-minute headline right when it matters most and appeal to those who want something tangible on their shelf.

But it’s not confirmed, and Rockstar’s silence speaks volumes. If a Collector’s Edition were on the way, Take-Two would have a natural stage to announce it: its August 7 earnings call, with investors and distributors in attendance. That’s the event to keep an eye on.

Lessons from Past Records

What’s striking is that GTA VI doesn’t have a Special Edition. It goes straight from Standard to Ultimate. Perhaps Rockstar felt that the 20-euro difference is sufficient, eliminating the need for an intermediate step. Or perhaps the Ultimate is the digital evolution of what used to be the Special Edition: exclusive content without an exorbitant price tag.

What to Watch for Until November

If Rockstar announces a Collector’s Edition (prediction based on historical patterns, with no confirmation):

• It would arrive between October and mid-November.
• It would include a metal case, a figurine, and merchandise.
• It would be priced between 150 and 200 euros.
• It would be a limited run.

If no announcement is made:

• The Ultimate Edition will be at the top of the price range.
• Rockstar will have decided that physical merchandise isn’t a priority in 2026.
• Collectors will have to wait for post-launch deluxe editions (as was the case with GTA V).

The Verdict

Don’t expect a physical Collector’s Edition from Rockstar. The Ultimate Edition (€99.99) is the most it offers in terms of official exclusive content on launch day. If you want something tangible, unofficial themed boxes will most likely end up appearing in specialty stores and on eBay, but that’s the secondary market—not a Rockstar product.
