Who is Ernesto in GTA 6?
Ernesto is the man who phones Raymond right before the raid in An Extended Look (August 27, 2026). He is named at 3:21 ("Yo Ray, it's him. Ernesto") and Raymond greets him as "Nesto." He has no known face and no official profile: he is only a voice.
What does Ernesto say on the call?
He mixes Spanish and English, and the subtitles italicise his lines. Here is what he says (official subtitles):
| Time | Line |
|---|---|
| 3:25 | "Raymond." |
| 3:28 | "Óyeme, mi hermano, we got a situation happening." |
| 3:32 | "Our friends on the task force are on their way." |
| 3:34 | "They say they're paying you a visit so just let them take whatever they want, okay?" |
| 3:42 | "Raymond, listen very closely, cabrón." |
| 4:09 | "It is what it is, my friend." |
In between, someone asks for the speakerphone, someone asks what he is talking about, and a voice threatens to have a man "outside yo momma house." Noise follows, someone shouts that the cops are armed, and a voice complains, "I always been there for you. But this what I get?"
What role does Ernesto play in the raid?
What we hear is that Ernesto knows the officers are coming and tells Raymond without trying to stop them. Fan sites read this differently: some say he tipped off the police, others that he only warned about the raid. The video doesn't settle it, and Leonida Bay reports only what is heard. The phone screen shows "Unknown" even though Raymond identifies him.
How does he connect to Raymond and Boobie Ike?
Raymond treats him like a close contact: he uses his nickname, and after the call a complaint about betrayal is heard as the police come in. The protagonists are there to pick up a package for Boobie Ike, and Raymond talks about a "partner" who has gone off the grid; the video doesn't say whether Ernesto is that partner. After the call, Méndez turns up among the officers.
What is still unknown?
- What Ernesto does for a living and whose side he is on.
- Whether Jason and Lucia will ever meet him.
- What the "task force" actually is.
- Who voices him: Rockstar hasn't released a cast list.
