Cal Hampton, GTA 6's Official Conspiracy Theorist: UFOs, the Skunk Ape, and 1,368 Hidden Events on the Map

"What if everything on the internet were true?" Rockstar introduced Cal Hampton, and the leaked 2022 file suggests that his paranoia might actually be rooted in Leonida.
Every GTA game has its own prophet of the apocalypse. San Andreas had The Truth; GTA 5 had Nervous Ron and Omega. GTA 6 already has its own, and it’s official: Cal Hampton, introduced by Rockstar alongside Trailer 2 on May 6, 2025, with a tagline that couldn’t be better: “What if everything on the internet was true?”
His official bio paints a complete picture: a friend of Jason’s, he feels safest at home, eavesdropping on Coast Guard communications with a few beers and several private tabs open in his browser. “Psychopaths are in charge. Get used to it,” says Rockstar about him. A fisherman’s hat, an alien-themed Hawaiian shirt, and the look of someone who’s not entirely wrong.
The Tattoos the Community Has Put Under the Microscope
In the trailer’s stills, the community has interpreted his tattoos as a map of obsessions: an alien shedding a human disguise, what looks like a plesiosaur (the classic Nessie silhouette), and even a tattoo of Piggsy, the psychopath from Manhunt, another Rockstar game. Note: this is fan-based image analysis, not an official list. But it fits way too well with what’s coming next.
What the Leaked 2022 File Says
In the massive leak from September 2022, data miners documented an internal list containing nearly 1,368 world events—compared to ~150 in GTA 5 and ~400–500 in Red Dead Redemption 2. Among the actual names picked up by outlets like GameSpot: UFO, SkunkApe (Florida’s Bigfoot, with a documented sighting in a scene where Jason gets scared), the Bermuda Triangle, a drug submarine, the wreckage of a failed space launch... This is development material from four years ago, so there’s no guarantee that all of it will make the final cut, but the direction is unmistakable: Leonida will be rife with mysteries, and Cal Hampton seems designed to be our gateway to them all.
A crucial detail you’ll likely misread elsewhere: the famous “A_C_RIVERMONSTER” audio file circulating and attributed to the GTA 6 leak actually belongs to Red Dead Redemption 2 (a cut river monster). The lake monster in GTA 6, if it exists, has yet to leave a trace.
Favorite theory: UFOs over the Triangle, the Skunk Ape in Grassrivers, or something even worse in Lake Leonida?
